Kellett offers a holistic education that follows a modified English National Curriculum. The curriculum is structured to enable children to meet or exceed the expectations of the English preparatory schooling system.
Kellett begins with the reception year and its curriculum builds a solid foundation for future learning.
The following six areas of learning are incorporated in the Foundation Stage Curriculum:
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
Kellett’s preparatory classes place a strong emphasis on high levels of attainment in Literacy, Numeracy, Science and ICT. Subjects may be taught individually as pure subjects or within integrated themes, where experimental and collaborative learning are an important strategy.
The curriculum includes:
- Design Technology
- Physical Education
- Personal, Social and Health Education
- French (as an elective from P3)
- Information Communication Technology
The adventure in learning is supplemented by regular concerts, performances and assemblies which intersperse the year. These public performances offer children a great way to develop their confidence and public speaking skills.
Musicians, artists, authors, performers and speakers regularly visit the school to share their passions and adventures.
