Who We Are

Kellett School is an independent British International School with over forty years of operation in Hong Kong. The school serves the English-speaking community of Hong Kong. The majority of our parents are high-achieving expatriates with similar expectations of their children and their children's school.

Kellett has an excellent reputation in the local community for academic excellence, curriculum breadth and pastoral care.

It is a school of first choice for many parents and is over-subscribed. Kellett is registered with the Hong Kong Government and is governed by the parents, through the Association, on a not-for-profit basis. Parents are actively involved and very supportive of their child's/children's school. The Association is a registered company, limited by guarantee, and recognised as a charity in Hong Kong and the USA. Kellett is a member of The Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA).

Kellett has over 270 full-time and part-time employees including teaching staff, teaching assistants and administrative staff.

I love watching our class assemblies, musicals and performances, and I truly enjoy our annual Year 5 Beijing trip. I enjoy working at Kellett School because of the unique 'Kellett Community', where pupils, teachers and parents support each other in all aspects of the school.

Application Procedures

Working & Living in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a lively and vibrant city in which to live, work and play.

Hong Kong offers a high quality of living with a year-round calendar of world-class cultural, arts and sports events. This, combined with its stunning natural beauty, spectacular city skyline and harbour, plus incredible travel opportunities around the region, makes Hong Kong an exciting place to be.

Transport

Public transport is excellent: both extensive and inexpensive. Both school campuses are easily accessible by frequent public transport links. Car ownership is not a necessity.

Salaries

Kellett School teacher salaries are amongst the most generous offered by international schools in Hong Kong. Personal taxation is low with the maximum payable set at 15% of taxable income. Accommodation expenses, under a rental reimbursement scheme approved by the Tax Department can further reduce the amount of tax paid.

Cost of Living

Cost of living expenses, especially accommodation, is higher than in the UK (probably on an equivalent to central London).

Please Note that employees are required to contribute a percentage of their salary to The HKSAR Government Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF), a compulsory retirement saving scheme. This is invested and repaid to expatriates, plus/minus losses, on leaving Hong Kong permanently.
