Artists-in-Residence (2025) Becky & Lucy Gilmore of Make & Do, and the Kellett Community
A tapestry commissioned to celebrate Kellett's 50th Anniversary, that weaves together the narratives of both Kellett and Hong Kong. Supercharged with funding by K2, the tapestry is made up of over 100 different Hong Kong themed motifs across four categories: flora & fauna, transport, the Chinese zodiac, and food. This tapestry is a reminder of Kellett's commitment to our home city.
Students submitted designs for motifs, and students from Year 3 upwards, along with members of our community, used embroidery to bring the images to life. Our youngest students focused on weaving wool and recycled school uniform to create the trim.
