Kellett Cares runs under the auspices of the Parents' Committee and supports the work of charities and NGOs in Hong Kong, Asia and worldwide.
Kellett Cares functions throughout both Preparatory Schools and our Senior School, in varying ways. In the Senior School, students are largely given responsibility for their own charitable support, and are required to participate in community service projects as part of their general education. In the past, student-led initiatives have been run through bake sales, sponsored runs, hikes and fancy dress days.
The Kellett Cares Senior Appeal is divided into three categories: Global Outlook, Local Outlook and Disaster Relief. Funds raised throughout the year will be distributed via these three avenues. Whilst Kellett places an emphasis on helping local charities in Hong Kong, we look further afield to other countries during Global Outlook Week, in order to help mould our students into global citizens and open them to new experiences and important lessons. During Global Outlook Week, Senior School students will spend a large amount of time contributing to local communities, whether they are in Thailand, Cambodia, Mongolia or Malaysia.
In both Prep Schools, money is raised through pizza sales, bake sales, and other Parents' Committee led activities, as well as the sales of a range of Kellett Cares items, such as umbrellas and aprons.
