Longstanding Kellett Principal Ann Mc Donald honoured with OBE
Kellett School, The British International School in Hong Kong, is thrilled to announce that the School’s longstanding Principal, Ms Ann Mc Donald, has been awarded an OBE for services to education and the British community in Hong Kong, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
The OBE is in recognition of the incredible contribution Ms Mc Donald has made to the education sector while at the helm of Kellett School for the past 23 years, a post she retires from in July.
Kellett School’s Chairman of the Board of Governors, Peter Goulston, welcomed the news, “This honour is richly deserved and reflects the unfaltering dedication Ann has to her profession and the students under her care. We at Kellett have been very lucky to have her as Principal for over two decades. Without her vision and leadership the school would not be the leading educational institution it is today.”
Under Ms Mc Donald’s tenure the school has grown from a small primary school to an internationally recognised independent through-school incorporating campuses in Pok Fu Lam and Kowloon Bay educating over 1350 students. In recognition of the quality of the education provided, the Heads of both Preparatory Schools have received the prestigious IAPS membership in recent years, meanwhile Ms Mc Donald was herself awarded HMC membership for the Senior School earlier in 2019.
