Before you proceed with an application, please read the following information as well as the Admissions Policy.
Kellett School welcomes all pupils whose needs can be met within a mainstream English medium school setting. Applications are accepted from birth, and places are offered according to date of application and our priority criteria. (Page 3 of Admissions Policy)
The School currently provides education for pupils aged between three years, eight months and thirteen years of age and has approximately 500 children on roll. Children turning four between 1st January and 31st December may begin in the Reception class in the September of the year of their fourth birthday. They then proceed to Primary 1 in the year of their fifth birthday.

For the later Primary and Secondary years, applicants will need to complete an assessment, prior to an offer of a place. This is to ensure that the applicant’s needs can be met within a mainstream school setting, and that the applicant’s academic needs will be met in an age appropriate class.
On occasion, children may be placed in the class one year below that dictated by their chronological age. This is at the discretion of the Principal. Children will not be put in a class above their chronological age.
Children for whom English is an additional language (“EAL”): Kellett enrols a small number of children whose English is not completely fluent. Such children will be assessed to ensure that their needs can be met before a place is offered. Kellett does not usually offer EAL places to Primary 4-6 applicants. Additional language support may be provided at cost.
Children who require Learning Support (Special Educational Needs) : A limited number of places are available to children with Special Educational Needs (although usually not children beyond ‘School Action Plus’ of the UK DFES “Special Educational Needs Code of Practice”).
