Application Procedures

Teachers and Supply Teachers

Kellett advertises in the TES (the Times Educational Supplement) and the SCMP (the South China Morning Post) in November/December and February. A late recruitment round is undertaken, as necessary, with interviews in April/May. Interviews are held in Hong Kong and London.

1. Download all the relevant information related to the positions to which you are applying. Please read it carefully and ensure you meet the necessary requirements.

2. Applications will only be accepted from teachers with English fluency in reading and writing, and whose qualifications are equivalent to UK Qualified Teacher Status. Our system requires you to complete and submit the Teacher Application Form online.

3. The information you will be required to provide is:

  • Personal details (name, address etc)
  • Current post and responsibilities
  • Past positions and responsibilities with dates
  • Qualifications (GCSE/A Levels/Degree/PGCE)
  • Details of CPD courses in past 3 years
  • Extra Curricular Activities
  • No of days sick leave in past two years
  • Names/Email address of three professional referees, which must include your current Head
  • Supporting statement which can be prepared in advance in word and copied and pasted into the document

4. Your supporting statement is included in section 9 of the application form and should clearly state:

  • Why you would like to teach at Kellett School
  • Your educational philosophy
  • Your experience in meeting the requirements of the position
  • Evidence of contributions to your current school's development
  • Your professional and personal strengths
  • Your contributions to the wider and extra-curricular life of your present school
  • Your personal interests
Do not include a CV. Photographs are not required at this stage.

Support Staff and Peripatetic Music Teachers

1. Download all the relevant information related to the positions to which you are applying. Please read it carefully and ensure you meet the necessary requirements.

2. Uploading your resume is optional. Our system requires you to complete and submit the relevant Application Form online.

All offers of employment are subject to confirmation of visa status in Hong Kong and satisfactory references.

Prospective employees may be required to apply for a Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) through the Hong Kong Police Force.
