The Kellett curriculum is both content and skills led, and is designed to meet the needs of pupils aged three to eleven years old. It is based on the English National Curriculum and is modified and enhanced for our international setting. English is the medium of instruction.
United Kingdom inspectors and education specialists regularly review both our curriculum and standards of teaching and learning. Using their recommendations, and in line with recent United Kingdom developments, we have recently updated the curriculum. These developments reflect our aim of providing an excellent, quality education that aspires to the highest standards across all subjects.
We believe we are providing a secure foundation from which children can thrive and build a successful future for themselves, whilst becoming responsible citizens of the world.
Reception
Pupils enter Reception in the September of the chronological year that they are four years old. The Reception Foundation Curriculum focuses on pupils personal development, literacy and numeracy skills. The rich programme is structured to also assist the development of knowledge and understanding of the world, physical dexterity and creativity. Information communication technology and music form an important part of this programme.
The Foundation Curriculum is taught by fully qualified early years teachers who hold United Kingdom Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
Reception classes work half days from September to December moving to full days in January until the conclusion of the academic year in June.

Primary One to Primary Six
The curriculum from Primary One to Primary Six covers the core subjects of English, mathematics, science and information communication technology (computer studies), supported by history, geography, art, physical education, Chinese studies (Mandarin) and music. French is offered as an option in the upper school. Additionally, the curriculum includes dance, drama, personal, social and health education and multicultural studies.
The curriculum is structured to meet and exceed the English National Curriculum levels of attainment. An assessment is made of each pupil within three weeks of them joining the school to identify their strengths. United Kingdom standardised assessments take place annually from Primary Two to Primary Six. Parents receive the results of these assessments via the written Annual Report.
Children leaving Kellett at the end of Primary Six move to local and overseas schools where they are known to confidently and capably meet the challenges of secondary education. Former Kellett pupils have gained academic and arts scholarships, entered leading schools, many later graduating with honours from leading universities worldwide
