Ms Ponter's Favourite Web sites

Whilst planning lessons, I am always on the look out for interesting web sites to use in class. Below are some of those web sites that I think you might find interesting and fun!

For some mark making madness, try creating your own abstract Jackson Pollock online painting.

The web sites which gives me access to hundreds of famous artist's images is artchive.com. It lists the artist's name A to Z. To view an artist's work scroll down the list of artist's names, click on the artist you are interested in and finally click on view image list.

For those of you wanting to know more about one and two point perspective, this web site has lots of interesting information and ideas.

The British Museum in London is full of wonderful artifacts from all over the world. Find out about Ancient Egyptian Pharos, Masks from all over the world, gold coins from Africa and much much more! Like the museum itself the web site is huge! When you get to the home web page click on 'Explore the British Museum'. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on children's' tours. http://www.britishmuseum.org/

Origami is the art of paper folding. The word is Japanese, literally meaning to fold (oru) paper (kami). Joseph Wu invites you to explore his web site and to make use of the resources you find here. Happy folding! Click here: http://www.origami.as/home.html

If you are interested in contemporary (modern) Aboriginal Art, check out this web site!
