Alice Barty
1983 to 1990

My name is Alice Barty and I was at Kellett School from the age of 3 until I left for secondary school. I have some of the best memories of my life from when I was in Kellett from all the sports days, to the Wednesday morning assemblies where we sang from little red books (although I know that they have now gone!) and when we used to have mid morning milk breaks. I remember when the school bookshop opened and when we had the petting zoo (rabbits and guinea pigs) run by my reception teacher Mrs. Tully who I understand has left Kellett a few years ago. I remember how I gained my love of music from Mrs. Speed and art with Mrs. Lamont and I used to love being part of the Netball team with Mrs. Probert. I remember the old banyan tree round the back and when everyone used to want to be the one to be able to ring the bell for the end of playtime.

Also, how could I fail not to mention the plays that every P6 year put on? My brother Adam Barty did Oliver Twist and in my year, we did The Muppets. I remember the excitement of getting ready in the music room and walking up the stairs to behind the stage through the little door and getting to be one of the people to cut the cake after the performance as I had been in Kellett since reception.

If anyone who is reading this was at Kellett when I was there, I would love to hear from you: ajbarty@yahoo.co.uk.

One final message, to all of my teachers and friends at Kellett, thank you so much for giving me one of the best experiences of my life!
