Sam Kindler
2000 to 2002
Hello, I welcome my self as a former student at Kellet School to who ever is reading this. My name is Sam Kindler, and as you might have spotted my mother works there, Jane Kindler. I'm not too sure at this point as to when I joined Kellet School, somewhere during the end period of 2000 or near. When I joined Kellet School I was in P-5, the class with Mr. Marshall, who with no doubt was one of the nicest teachers I have been taught by; this is because he was bright, funny and very pleasant to talk and work with. As I know now he has gone to other places, and I think I was one of his last students because I remember leaving when I moved up to P-6. I had many memories of Kellet School , all happy and which I will keep for the rest of my life; Kellet School was a magical place to be at. During my course of P-6 I came to realized that the Kellet School community was so easy to live in, all the people around me and the teacher and staff. It was like home, at school, which for many 12 year old is heaven, having such a nice place at school because most 12 year old hate school.

In P-6 I had Sally Lockhart as my teacher, hopefully I spelt that right. She was one of my favorite teachers because she was nice and charming. That was the last year I would spend in Kellet School, which was very sad because I loved it to bits there and I really did not want to leave all my friends, the teachers and staff and most important of all, the school. It was not the feeling that the school was not going to close down, it was that I was moving on the stage in life when I take my GCSEs, which I would be one of the last in Hong Kong with there new system taking of GCSEs.

When I left 'heaven' I went to a school in Hong Kong, called South Island School. I then got moved to England, half way trough that term to a lovely school called St. Christopher’s School. I had two years there, as it was a boarding school I lived in the school and went home to my Grandparents on the weekends. After the two years, in 2005 I decided I wanted to move back to Hong Kong. This was because I was finding it hard to study in a boarding school. The staff and the school were nice but it was the pupils who changed my mind. I am now sitting in my room in Hong Kong, typing this memory of, as I say again and I mean it with all heart, 'heaven'.

I am now going to study Business Studies, Economics, Geography, Media Studies, ICT and all the other ones you have to do like Math’s, English ect. In South Island School , which for me is very lucky because first, I can see it out of my window and second it's half a minutes walk away form the front door. I do miss Kellet School so much; I keep saying to my self, "When I’m older, I’m going to invest money to make it a secondary school so student can have 16 years of 'heaven'". I have just finished reading my copy of Denis Way: The little school that did. I keep it a treasure and memory of this loving school. I do have frequent visits of Kellet School , as now I am living in Hong Kong I will take more often when possible. I would love to keep in contact with the school for the rest of my life and please reply back; I love the school to much.

This has to now roll to and end; once again I say a very big THANK YOU all the staff and teachers at Kellet School for making this the best time in my life.

Yours Sincerely,

Sam Kindler
